Things to Do in Nashville Over Labor Day Weekend

Your perch at The Countrypolitan puts the best of Music City at your fingertips, and Labor Day weekend’s definitely a great excuse for experiencing it all.

Live Music

It probably goes without saying you’ll have plenty of live music to choose from over the holiday weekend, not least at such fabled venues as the Ryman—presenting An Evening With Keith & Kristyn Getty & Friends on September 3rd and Nickel Creek from September 4th through the 6th—and the Grand Ole Opry, which welcomes Ben Folds and others September 1st and John Oates and company on September 2nd.

Over at the FirstBank Amphitheater, the Australian Pink Floyd Show will see A Dark Side of the Moon performed in its entirety on September 3rd.

Or make your way to Centennial Park, just a hop, skip, and a jump from The Countrypolitan, to enjoy the free, family-friendly concerts presented there Friday evenings in September by Musicians Corner. Besides the live tunes, you’ll have food trucks, arts-and-crafts vendors, and all the fun of Kidsville to enjoy.

Outdoor Activities

Summer’s not over yet! Take advantage of fine Labor Day weather and go paddling on the Cumberland River, or walk, jog, or bike along some of Nashville’s nearly 100 miles of officially designated Greenways, such as the 440 Greenway or the Shelby Bottoms Greenway.

Enjoy Some Art

With accommodations at The Countrypolitan Nashville, you’re only about a mile away from a standout art museum: the Frist.

Over Labor Day weekend, you can check out such current Frist Art Museum exhibitions as Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature, which presents a remarkable collection of paintings, sketches, letters, and photos illuminating the life and works of the famed British author behind Peter Rabbit.
