It’s official: Fall’s here, which means one of the very best times to visit Music City, USA is upon us! Reserve your boutique guest room or suite here at The Countrypolitan Nashville, right on the doorstep of historic Printers Alley, and enjoy everything the season has to offer alongside our signature hospitality.
From fall colors and pumpkin patches to music and film festivals, Halloween frights, and other events, it’s rather impossible to make a comprehensive survey of things to do in Nashville this autumn in one mere blogpost. But we’ll pull out some highlights to give you a sense of the possibilities, and hopefully inspire you to plan a fall getaway at our revamped hotel!
Fall Film Festivals
The autumn calendar in Nashville comes stacked with fantastic opportunities for any and all cinephiles and arts-and-culture enthusiasts. From September 27th through October 1st, the International Black Film Festival will bring screenings, Q&As, and other artistic fodder to venues such as the B. Milton & Denice Johnson Center, Fisk University’s Jubilee hall, the Looby Theater, and The Loading Dock.
That marquee event overlaps with another cinematic extravaganza: the Nashville Film Festival, among the longest-running of its kind in the country, and going down this year from September 28th through October 4th. Its venues include the Belcourt, Franklin, and Vanderbilt’s Rothschild Black Box theaters as well as Regal Green Hills and Sarratt Cinema.
Tennessee Titans Football
It is, of course, football season, and Nashville’s own NFL team holds court over at Nissan Stadium, just across the river from The Countrypolitan.
Choose our close-by boutique hotel for a Tennessee Titans home game: against the Cincinnati Bengals on October 1st, for example, or the Atlanta Falcons on October 29th, or the Carolina Panthers on November 26th. (Check out the full schedule of the 2023 Titans season right here.)
Fall Happenings at Cheekwood
The historic Cheekwood Estate & Gardens is offering, as usual, a slew of events this autumn. There’s Cheekwood Harvest, for example, a weeks-long affair (September 16th through October 29th) with a Pumpkin Village, beer garden, and other autumn fun, as well as Japanese Moon Viewings, the Halloween Pooch Party (October 21st through the 22nd), and the 22nd annual El Día de los Muertos festival (October 28th through the 29th).
Fall Colors in Nashville
Your Countrypolitan Nashville guest room or suite sets you up perfectly for enjoying a little “leaf-peeping,” Music City-style! A good nearby choice is the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center & Greenway, a fabulous natural oasis in East Nashville along the floodplain of the Cumberland River with plenty of bottomland hardwood forest ready to suit up in fall colors.
