Come spend part of your holiday season in Music City, USA with a stay at The Countrypolitan Nashville, and use our boutique hotel and dining/entertainment complex as a springboard for festivities all around town!
Let’s take a look at some—just some, mind you—of the holiday happenings underway this merry and magical time of year in and around Nashville.
Zooillumination—Chinese Festival of Lights at the Nashville Zoo
Steer your way to the Nashville Zoo for the largest traditional Chinese lantern festival in the U.S.: the wonderful Zooillumination, underway this season from November 17th through February 4th.
Better than 1,000 hand-crafted silk lanterns form the dazzling, must-see centerpiece of this event, but there’s plenty else going down as well, including acrobats and other performers, afterhours viewings of some of the zoo’s live critters, Santa meet-and-greets, and a North Pole Village, plus great eats and drinks.
Holiday Concerts
We probably don’t need to tell you that Music City marks the most festive stretch of the calendar with a jam-packed lineup of concerts and shows.
Indeed, there are far too many to cover in one single Countrypolitan blogpost, so we’ll just throw a few highlights out there to suggest the diversity of tune-age: from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Bridgestone Arena on December 6th and Leann Rimes on her Joy: The Holiday Tour at the Ryman Auditorium on December 9th to Handel’s Messiah with the Nashville Symphony Chorus at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, performed December 15th through the 17th.
Holiday LIGHTS at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens
Beginning November 18th and running evenings through January 7th, Cheekwood Estate & Gardens once again will be presenting its ever-popular Holiday LIGHTS festival, anchored by the mesmerizing milelong walking route through holiday displays that’ll feature more than a million lights.
This beloved Cheekwood seasonal happening also serves up lots of other delights, including a Holiday Marketplace and no shortage of s’mores!
Jack Daniel’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash
And then of course there’s the showstopper tradition by which Music City ushers out the old year and welcomes in the new one—namely, via Jack Daniel’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.
This year’s edition features some very big names on the free main stage at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, including Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, plus, per usual, the Music Note Drop at midnight and a thrilling fireworks display.
